These are the questions asked most frequently.. mostly. I thought I’d answer some of them, mostly to avoid annoying emails… mostly.

How do you make your comics?

I use my brain (when it’s working) combined with either a pad and pen (or collection of colouring pencils and felt tip pens). Sometimes I use acrylic paint. Most of the time I use an Applemac, a graphics tablet and either Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop. Once I used a yellow crayon.

Can I use your comics on my site?

Yes by all means. You can either link to the actual page/post of the comic or, alternatively, if you are wanting to display one of the comics within the content on your site, please, rather than link directly to the image on this server, download the comic from this site and host this locally, leaving the credit at the bottom of the cartoon intact. Feel free to link back to this site where possible.

Some have asked about using the strips in printed publications. If this is the case please contact me and I can work something out and send you a high resolution version.

Comics may be featured on your site or linked to but no comics are to be reproduced without written permission.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

It could be a robot I meet in the street or a 1950’s B-Movie. Who knows.

Hey you corporate sell-out! What’s with the adverts!?

Well, in an ideal world I have to make a living. It’s expensive drawing comics that are free for you to read. Lots of felt tip pens, Applemacs and web hostings to pay for. Yes, ads are present on this site however I have done my best to build the site so the ads don’t distract you from the comics or slow down the pages. I’m working on a way for the ads to not appear if you are logged in but for now if you really can’t stand them just resize your browser to about 800px wide the ads on the right should be out of sight.

Alternatively, click on them like mad for me and buy lots of things.

Do you do commissions?

Yes. Email your requirements over (ben brignell at gmail dot com) and we can work something out.

Do you have any merchandise?

Yes, there will be a few things popping up soon. Tee-shirts are being produced as well as roboty greetings cards. The shopping cart isn’t finished yet but if you want a shirt or card or anything just email for the time being and I can provide you with some kind of rudimentary list and probably deduct 10% for the time being to make the extra effort worth your while.

What’s RSS?

It’s a way to keep updated with this site (or other sites) via means of a news feed. It saves you having to keep checking the site for new cartoons. Here is a list of rss readers - I also suggest Firefox.

Do you get millions of pounds (x by 2 to convert into US Dollars) for your comics in newspapers?

Not at the moment. But if you like my comics it would be very nice of you to suggest this concept should you know a large newspaper editor.
